Mr. Fangs

Atlanta, GA

Mr. Fangs, also known as the Geist, was the first street art in Atlanta and the first character widely popular outside of the art community, embraced by small children and older folks alike.

Mr. Fangs maintains an almost cult-like following. Metro Atlanta residents go “ghost-hunting” on their daily commutes. In their pursuit, people pay more attention to the landscape of the city.

Fans attribute their own meanings and interpretations behind the various Geist colors and outfits. The variety makes Mr. Fangs even more appealing to seek out.

In 2004, Mr. Fangs was featured in T.I.’s video for “Bring Em Out.” In 2006, Mr. Fangs was so representative of Atlanta, Creative Loafing included the character on their Best of Atlanta cover and artwork.

Atlanta United supporter groups wave Mr. Fangs flags at home games and iconic Atlanta institutions like Fellini’s Pizza and La Fonda showcase Mr. Fangs art. Die hard fans sport various tattooed versions of Mr. Fangs on their bodies. Mr. Fangs was a featured artist in BeltLine Walls, Volume 2, on an undeveloped Northern portion of the Atlanta BeltLine.

Mr. Fangs seeks to uplift and inspire Atlanta residents and visitors through art.
